Megatron Must Be Stopped (Cover)

Year of Production: June 2015
Running Time: 6:38
Color / Sound 1080 HD

The continuing saga of the Autobot/Decepticon Battle from "Transformers - The Movie" 1986

"Megatron Must Be Stopped" was and still is a challenge for me to play because of all the time signature changes. I would list them, but it would be too confusing. Vince DiCola's orchestration is simply brilliant! Many of the same themes and riffs from the Autobot/Decepticon Battle are reintroduced and morphed throughout this piece, coupled with the use of dynamics helps to establish a thoughtful piece of work that compliments the films animation.

Also it's really, really fun to play!

Megadeth - Architecture Of Aggression (Drum Cover)

Year of Production: October 2014
Running Time: 3:43
Color / Sound 1080 HD

This is my favorite tune off of the Countdown to Extinction album. The songwriting is solid and straight forward with an excellent groove. I've always enjoyed playing this tune since I was a teenager. It's not a very complicated song on the drums, but what it lacks in complexity, completely makes up for in an infectious groove and crushing guitar riff.

All that being said, enjoy!

Special thanks to Scott Hannay for the intro guitar performance.

Tool - Undertow (Drum Cover)

Year of Production: August 2014
Running Time: 5:52
Color / Sound 1080 HD

This is by far one of my favorite Tools songs of all time. The rhythm during the verses has always intrigued me. The hi-hat ostanato pattern juxtaposed against the kick drum pattern is a solid groove.

I've always been a fan of the simple yet effective writing from this album. The middle section contrasts greatly with a very staccato 13/16 to 15/16 pattern, which when introduced the second time morphs into a unique breakdown and explosive second half.

I really enjoyed learning this tune because of all the little details to remember. The outro changes things drastically with a fast paced triplet guitar pattern and the drums playing slightly ahead of the beat. I'm almost a bit sad the process for this song is over. I really enjoyed the experience of dissecting this tune and the struggle to get it smooth for you guys. Hope you enjoy!! Special thanks to Steven Chandler for the guitar performances

Porcupine Tree - Mother and Child Divided (Drum Cover)

Year of Production: June 2014
Running Time: 5:05 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

If you’re having trouble catching the rhythm of this tune at first, focus your attention on the pulsing Hi-Hat pattern. This is what anchors the songs.

I had a blast learning and playing this song even though it doesn't look like it — I'm concentrating! This song is deceptively difficult to play!

Genesis - Land of Confusion (Drum Cover)

Year of production: February 2014
Running Time: 5:11 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

Surprisingly, this song was a challenge to play. The right foot is very busy throughout the entire song and plays different patterns for each section of the song.

The 16th note ride-hihat pattern in the chorus section is not in the original tune. I took some creative liberties because it just felt right to follow the repeating keyboard part in the background.

I enjoyed learning this song and mixing this one, it came out pretty darn good if I do say so.

Helmet - FBLA II (Drum Cover)

Year of production: January 2014
Running Time: 3:49 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

I love playing this tune. It has such a solid groove and the drums really have a front row seat for the action. When I first heard this song as a teenager it blew me away how tight and busy the kick drum is. The drum solo at 3:00 is funky and short with a run on the toms that is definitely challenging if your hands aren't warmed up! Bottom line, any drummer would have fun playing this song! Enjoy!"

I would also like to thank Steven Chandler for the guitar intro performance. Great job!

Sepultura - Altered State (Drum Cover)

Year of production: December 2013
Running Time: 6:18 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

This song is intense to play!!! There are a couple of drastic tempo changes that can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention. The double bass foot work helps to create endurance and is a solid workout (screw a Stairmaster!!) As for the hands, I had to warm up for a solid 20 minutes before attempting to attack this beast!

Like all metal tunes, the character is in the intensity. One must not only hit hard, but be precise in the execution.

Thank You. Enjoy!

Rush - Freewill (Drum Cover)

Year of production: November 2013
Running Time: 5:40 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

This is by far my favorite tune from Rush, followed by "Subdivisions" in a close second. There are a ton of time signature changes to keep you on your toes in this song. My favorite part is the middle bass solo section in 12/8, excellent groove and very fun to play. There are also a lot of complicated drum fills to keep ones concentration. I really enjoyed putting this together for your entertainment. Thank You. Enjoy!

Special thank you to Steven Chandler for the guitar intro performance.

Transformers - Autobot / Decepticon Battle (Drum Cover)

Year of production: October 2013
Running Time: 4:37 min
Color / Sound / 1080 HD

This song is a blast to play! The hardest part is the left foot — left hand ostinato pattern towards the beginning. Took me a good month to get it smooth. Thats probably why you see me concentrating so hard during that part!

Enjoy!
